Making an impact on student athletes for years to come

Starting in Spring of 2018, construction broke ground on the new Mercersburg aquatic center in Mercersburg Pennsylvania. The Mercersburg aquatic center includes an Olympic-size 50-meter, 10-lane pool with a diving well, locker rooms, spectator seating, and administrative office space. This 50-meter pool will be able to provide programs for student groups of all different levels and needs. In addition, the new aquatic center will allow Mercersburg to compete at the level of the top programs across the country.

Kaempf & Harris was proud to provide the ductwork and installation at the aquatic center. Our team work diligently to install the ductwork track that would not only provide airflow for the center, but also fit in the space. Through Mercersburg Outdoor Education program, this space will now be used for physical therapy, rehabilitation, strength training, kayaking, canoeing, and more. This 480,000 gallon pool will serve the Mercersburg community for years to come.

Sustainable Facility Constructed For Maryland’s Public Transportation

Kaempf & Harris began working on the new MTA Bus Maintenance Facility in April, 2015 and completed it in July 2017. This project included 15 service bays, allowing for preventive maintenance, vehicle inspections, heavy repairs, and washing.

The construction of this 100,000 square foot bus maintenance facility utilized a sustainable and energy efficient design. Kaempf & Harris installed fully exposed ductwork systems, providing supply and specialized exhaust systems. This facility also incorporated administrative and operator support facilities as well as on-site employee parking.

Kaempf & Harris’ field foreman and management team coordinated necessary product deliveries in a congested commercial and residential neighborhood.

Now, new facility parking will reduce this congestion in the local neighborhood.

Historic School Building Gets a New Look

Kaempf & Harris performed well under challenging circumstances, successfully navigating tight ceiling space and an even tighter project timeline to deliver modern HVAC systems to the campus kitchen and the existing dining hall.

In addition, the team added HVAC ductwork to historic Ford Hall, helping to successfully convert its basement into a brand new, vibrant student center that included two new private dining halls and a student lounge.

The team adjusted to design and engineering challenges, coordinated with the wider team to avoid impacting campus life and successfully completed their portion of the project within the compressed timeframe and within budget.
